Meeting background

iNEMI is sponsoring an industry/academic Sustainability Summit to identify ways in which the electronics industry can act more strategically on environmental issues.  The summit will:

  • Feature speakers from industry and academia
  • Brainstorm options and priorities
  • Establish action groups to address selected issues based on outcomes of meeting

Meeting objectives

  • Evaluate opportunities for industry collaboration on proactive environmental programs
  • Form action groups to execute the required industrial collaborative programs
  • Define academic research needs to support these programs
  • Stimulate funding for the necessary research

Who should attend?

Middle management and senior executives whose responsibilities include:

  • ES&H
  • Sustainability strategy
  • Advanced technology development
  • Product strategy and development
  • Sourcing and supply chain management

The intent of this meeting is to set the priorities and direction for future collaborative efforts on proactive environmental programs.  Your participation will allow you to help set this agenda for the industry.

  • Leading change in industry (Chair: Nasser Grayeli, Vice President, Technology and Manufacturing Group, Intel Corporation)
  • Proactive programs to develop alternative materials (Chair: Mike Toben, Director, Global R&D, Rohm and Haas)
  • Reducing energy use while increasing performance (Chair: Marc Benowitz, Director, Corporate CTO Office, Alcatel-Lucent)

Additional/revised discussion groups will be organized based on results of summit discussions and interest of participants.

In addition to the conference hotel, there are several other hotels within about a mile of the Motorola campus, including

The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center does not have a shuttle that picks up from or delivers to the airport.  However, their free shuttle will provide transportation between the hotel and Motorola. There is also a free trolley that provides transportation to local shopping and points of interest.

A1 Limo Service can provide transportation from/to the airport for approximately $25.  Schedule a pick-up on their website.
