Events & Publications
April / May 2018

Hi folks! We have several key events approaching for both the Product Emulator Groups (PEGs) and the Technology Working Groups (TWGs). At this point the PEGs are working on their draft chapters with the intention of meeting the due date of May 22 to hand off to the TWGs; and the TWG teams should all be engaged with their own reviews and preparations to review the PEG information coming their way. Regional roadmap workshops start on May 29 with the North America webinar to review progress to date and ensure that regional interests are discussed. These webinars are open to industry. More information on the events coming up in May are below.

An important question for all is how I can help facilitate any cross-cut meetings among the various teams. The iNEMI roadmap is known for its comprehensive spread of information across the entire electronics manufacturing industry ecosystem. Working with related teams ensures an integrated approach so that the messages and roadmap timings are consistent. While the upcoming webinars can serve in part (informing teams of each other’s work), we can schedule separate meetings at times convenient for teams to meet with each other. Please feel free to contact me and I am happy to make arrangements.

Thanks again for all your efforts!

  Linda Wilson, iNEMI Roadmap ManagerXX

Smart Manufacturing Update

This new TWG has grown quickly to over 20 members. The TWG members are meeting every other week and are a diverse, engaged team. Smart manufacturing is a broad strategy that will advance the industrial playing field in a revolutionary way, and the roadmap will need to reflect this. The TWG members have decided on a structure for the roadmap report that is consistent with the iNEMI approach and is one that will satisfy the scope of interest for the electronics industry. The co-chairs are Ranjan Chatterjee (Cimetrix) and Dan Gamota (Jabil). If you are interested in participating in this new iNEMI TWG, please contact me and I will forward to Dan and Ranjan.

Recent Activity: Team File-Sharing

File shares on Dropbox are now available for each PEG and TWG team. Invitations to join each of these spaces have been sent to all the PEG and TWG chairs to share with their team members. Each team member can upload and download information to share among their fellow team members. Also, we are ramping up the iNEMI LinkedIn Roadmap Group. In this space we can share interesting articles about the electronics industry and even have presentations linked to that area. We also encourage you to share this space with your colleagues not necessarily part of the roadmap effort (yet!) to build a content-rich space. If you have a LinkedIn account, click here to join the group.

Be a Part of the Effort: Get Involved!
All PEG and TWG teams are working to update product parameters for their PEGs or preparing TWG plans for updating roadmaps for the 2019 Roadmap cycle. We are searching for people to lead the following teams:

1. Consumer & Office PEG (Chair & Co-Chair)
2. Portable & Wireless PEG (Chair & Co-Chair)
3. Automotive PEG (Chair & Co-Chair)
4. IoT PEG (Chair)
5. RF Components & Subsystems TWG (Chair & Co-Chair)

If you’re interested in getting involved in a PEG or TWG — either as a chair/co-chair or as a contributor — please contact me, Linda Wilson. Remember — PEG and TWG teams include all industry participants; iNEMI membership is not required. See a list of current PEGs and TWGs, as well as the roles and requirements for roadmap team participants.
PEG Progress Report Is in May
A review of the PEG progress with the Technical Committee members is scheduled for May 9. Also, on May 22, we will have a telecon with all the TWG chairs as a dry run for the three regional TWG webinars that start on May 29 (see schedule below). These webinars are open to industry. Previously held as a face-to-face event co-located with ECTC, the North America meeting will be a webinar this year. I am working with all the PEG and TWG chairs to ensure we will be ready for all these events with a preliminary agenda for each webinar.
