election, iNEMI re-elected four Board members and added a new Director. We welcome Dr. Andy Mackie (Indium Corporation) as our newest Board member and congratulate Mostafa Aghazadeh (Intel), Dr. Ravi Bhatkal (MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions), Ranjan Chatterjee (Cimetrix by PDF/SOLUTIONS) and Dr. Hannes Voraberger (AT&S) on their re-election. https://www.inemi.org/leadership
The iNEMI Board provides overall oversight and governance of operations, including decisions regarding policy, strategy and direction of the consortium. The 13 members of the present Board are executives from a cross-section of participating organizations (OEMs, EMS providers, ODMs and suppliers). Directors are nominated and elected by the Participating Members and typically serve three-year terms. The Chairman is elected from within the Board. The insights the Board members contribute from their respective experiences working in the electronics manufacturing industry are critical to our success.
Mostafa Aghazadeh is Corporate Vice President of the Technology and Manufacturing Group, and Director of Die Prep & Assembly Technology Development at Intel Corporation. He is responsible for development and deployment of packaging assembly process, equipment, and materials technologies and all the associated materials and equipment suppliers. Mostafa has served on the iNEMI Board of Directors since 2013, and as chairman since 2020.
Ravi M. Bhatkal, PhD
MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions
Dr. Ravi Bhatkal serves as Managing Director, India, for Element Solutions, Inc. including its MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions and MacDermid Enthone Industrial Solutions businesses. Element Solutions, Inc. is a $2 billion+ company, focused on advanced materials and specialty chemicals for electronics, automotive, graphics and energy and other key markets. Ravi has served on the iNEMI Board of Directors since 2012 and was previously a member of the iNEMI Technical Committee and chair of iNEMI roadmap workgroups.
Cimetrix by PDF/SOLUTIONS
Ranjan Chatterjee is Executive Vice President, Smart Manufacturing Solutions for the Cimetrix Connectivity Group. In that role he oversees all aspects of business strategy and execution for the Smart Factory business. His focus is on extending and introducing cloud and cognitivie software into Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives. Ranjan has been a member of the iNEMI Board of Directors since 2020. His also co-chairs iNEMI's smart manufacturing roadmap workgroup and the Smart Manufacturing Technology Integration Group (TIG), which identifies projects in the area of smart manufacturing.
Andy Mackie, PhD
Dr. Andy Mackie is Principal Engineer and Manager for Indium Corporation's Thermal Interface Materials Applications. He is an electronics industry expert with a technical background in physical chemistry, surface chemistry, rheology, and semiconductor fabrication and assembly materials and processes. Andy's professional experience covers all aspects of electronics manufacturing from wafer fabrication to semiconductor packaging and SMT/electronics assembly. Andy was elected to the iNEMI Board this spring (2022). He was previously a co-chair of iNEMI's PCB/PCBA Material Characterization for Automotive Harsh Environments project.
Hannes Voraberger, PhD
Dr. Hannes Voraberger has been Director of R&D for AT&S since 2010. In this role, he is responsible for corporate R&D and R&D centers, technology forecasting and roadmapping, intellectual property, corporate innovation process, governmental funding and research relations. He initially joined the iNEMI Board in 2021.
