Gautam Kavipurapu, Director of Member Development

Gautam joined INEMI in 2025. He is a systems engineer and an experienced business manager with over 26 years of experience in large and small companies.  He started his career at Texas Instruments Defense Electronics (now Raytheon) working on various programs.  As part of the pre-sales organization at Nortel Networks, his team was involved in generating multi-billion-dollar contracts with companies like Time Warner Cable, AT&T/TCI cable, Adelphia, Comcast and others. Gautam is an inventor of 19 patents including a seminal patent in computer architecture that is a forerunner of PCI Express and high-speed packet interconnects. His expertise spans networking, controls, signal processing, communication systems, computers and storage systems, high-performance computing (HPC), cloud systems, artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) and deep learning.

Gautam and his team developed a “graph processor” to run AI/ML kernels and HPC kernels (2013 to 2016), which is now licensed to Ectron Corporation. Many of the innovations are also available as extensions of LLVM compilers and seen in CGRA (coarse-grained reconfigurable architectures) of today. Gautam has been involved in building accelerators, co-processors and systems since 2005 for AI/ML, neural nets and high-performance computing.

Gautam's patents have been licensed industry-wide, generating millions of dollars in revenue.  He is also an author and co-author of several IEEE conference papers in networking and specialized processors. He has had two successful middle market exits of companies he founded.

Gautam holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSEE from Georgia Institute of Technology.
