The goal of the INEMI Materials Composition Data Exchange Project was to work with the appropriate international standards bodies to define and validate standards for the exchange of material composition data between all elements of the value chain to support requirements of the WEEE and RoHS directives.

To this end, the Materials Composition Data Exchange team, IPC and RosettaNet collaborated to develop a new IPC standard that establishes electronic data formats and supporting standardized forms to simplify the exchange of materials declaration information between trading partners in the electronics industry -- IPC-1752, Materials Declaration Management.
